Tuning: regular, with capo 2
finger pick this using your thumb for all the lead notes,do that for the
intro. keith really only dose it once, but i like to do it twice to get
a feel for the rythem, and set up the song.
if u like useing your pick, id still suggestpickin it
if you have 2 guitars, gutar 2 can play all the first 3 on the G, and
the slides on the other notes
G D Em C
e|---------3----------------0-------------------------------------0-----0---
B|-----3-----3----------3-----3---------------0---------------1-----1-----1-
G|-----0----------------2-----------------0-----0-------------0-------------

E|3~-----------------------------------0--------------2s3~------------------
ok for the verse
this is basicaly the same pattern he used for the intro, but no sliding,
there are a few other subtly changes also. no spacing between chords
can be strumed over lightly with matching chords,

the chorus has alot of variations in it, and im sorry to say they are a lil
to jumbled for me to make out as this is the first tab i've attempted,
so play your intro for the chorus without the slides if u prefer
also guitar two should play the chords over this part slightly stronger so
the picking can barly be made out, but still keep it smooth
if you want to play this song you prolly already know the words,
but i put the chords where they switch accordingly,
and put all the lyrics in just in case
Em C
I woke up early this moring 'round 4am
G D
With the moon shining bright as headlight on the interstate
Em C
I pulled the covers over my head and tried to catch some sleep
G D
But thoughts of us kept keepin' me awake
Am Em
Ever since you found yourself in someone else's arms
F
I've been trying my best to get along But thats ok there's nothing
left to say, but...
(Chorus)
G D
Take your records, take your freedom
Em
Take your memories, I don't need 'em
C
Take your space and take your reasons But you'll think of me
G D
And take your cap and leave my sweater
Em
'Cause we have nothing left to weather
C
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better
G D
But you'll think of me, you'll think of me
verse 2
I went out drivin' tryin' to clear my head
I tried to sweep of all the ruins that my emotions left
I guess I'm feelin' just a little tired of this
And all the baggage that seems to still exist
It seems the only blessing I have left to my name
Is not knowing what we could have been, what we should have been,
so... (Chorus) (Bridge),(Chorus) x2, then
play the intro till till you get tired of it
for the bridge the 2nd guitar should mostly take over with struming the chords
F Am Em
someday~~~~~~~ i'm gonna run across your mind,
D
but dont worry i'll be fine im gonna be alright
F Am
while your sleeping with your pride
Em
wishing i could hold you tight
F
i'll be over you, and on with my life
during this bridge keith dosent do much, but every once in a while
he dose a little thing to accent the chord, pick and choose from these
e|-------------------------0---------------------------------------------
B|----1------1------------3----------------------------------------------
G|---2------2-------0----2-----------------------------------------------
D|--3------2-------2----0------------------------------------------------
A|-0------0-------2------------------------------------------------------
